Mary E. West

ARIZONA— Mary Elizabeth West (Beasley), 68, of Lake Havasu City, AZ and formerly of Wilmington, passed away Monday, Nov. 4, 2019 at her home.
She was born in Joliet on Oct. 9, 1951 to Herman and Shirley Beasley. Family members knew her as “Tootie.” She grew up in Wilmington, graduating high school in 1969. On April 28, 1976 she married Warren West, and they had two beautiful sons.
In 1987, they relocated to California. After working many years in the insurance claims industry, Mary retired to Lake Havasu City. She enjoyed traveling with Warren and Abbie, her golden retriever, in their motor home, visiting 42 states including Alaska. She loved sightseeing, jeeping, and was an avid NASCAR fan. They visited racetracks all over the U.S. with family and friends. When Mary was home, she loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. They were the joy of her life.
She is survived by her husband of 43 years, Warren; her sons, Corey (Leilani) and Kyle (Cres-Anne); and four grandchildren: Charlotte, Keira, Christopher, and Kendall. She is also survived by her mother, Shirley Beasley; siblings: Peggy (Edward) Hunter; Donald (Beverly) Beasley; and Karen Rhodes; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Mary was preceded in death by her father Herman, sister Joyce Weeks, and brother Phillip (Doris Sue) Beasley.
She will be sorely missed by all who had the privilege of experiencing her light.
