BRAIDWOOD—Mary Ann Koehler (nee Girot), 81, of Braidwood, passed away Friday, Jan. 3, 2020 at Morris Hospital surrounded by her loving family.
Born Feb. 17, 1938 in Chicago, IL, she was the daughter of Charles and Mildred (nee Malinek) Girot. She was a member of the Immaculate Conception Church in Braidwood. Mary enjoyed fishing and traveling the world with her husband, Richard. She also enjoyed gardening, but most of all loved spending time with her family. She was an amazing mother, grandmother and her great-grandchildren were her absolute pride and joy.
Surviving are her children, Randy Johnsen, of Pennsylvania; Mary (the late Ron) Housman, of Braidwood and Lori Mack, of Stone Forth, IL; eight grandchildren: Ronica (Andrew) DeMarse, Ronald (Kara) Housman Jr., Kevin (Amber) Housman, Matthew Housman, Bryan, Brandon, Dakota and Joshua Beegle; 10 great-grandchildren: Allison, Wyatt, MaKayla and Emma DeMarse; Ayden and Avery Housman, Hunter Housman, Ethan and Carter Slager and Gabrielle Cromp; bonus great-grandson, Gavin Hansen; sister, Carol (the late Wayne) Lembke, of Braidwood; sister-in-law, Jean (Richard) Quimet, of Cadott, WI and numerous nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death were her parents, husband, Richard A. Koehler, who she married Nov. 19, 1976 in Braidwood and recently passed July 29, 2019; one son, Roy Johnsen and grandson, Colton DeMarse.
Visitation will be at the R.W. Patterson Funeral Home & Crematory, Braidwood, Friday, Jan. 10, 2020 from 9:30-11:30 a.m. Funeral services will be from the R.W. Patterson Funeral Home & Crematory, Friday, Jan. 10, 2020 at 11:30 a.m. to the Immaculate Conception Church in Braidwood for a Mass of Christian Burial at 12 p.m. Interment will follow in Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Wilmington.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in her name may be directed to the family.
