Lorraine Popovich

WILMINGTON—Lorraine (Egan) Popovich, 87, of Wilmington, passed away Friday, Sept. 8, 2023 with her loving family by her side at home.
Born Sept. 3, 1936 in Joliet, Lorraine Lyola was a daughter of William and Lyola Julia Fox-Egan. On Feb. 9, 1957 Lorraine married Robert Charles Popovich in Crown Point, IN, and together they would share 66 years of marriage.
She was a wonderful wife and mother who took great pride in raising her family. Lorraine was an excellent cook, and in her free time enjoyed garage sales and getting together with her regular coffee-clutch friends. Though she was slowed by her Parkinson's disease, Lorraine maintained a positive attitude and looked forward to spending as much time as possible with her family.
Survivors include her husband, Robert Popovich; four children: Denise (Robert) Lambert, Mary Ann (Ron) Eichelberber, Patricia (Jamie) Blackwell and William Popovich; five grandchildren: Sheila Lambert, Daniel Lambert, Amiee Eichelberger, Austin Blackwell (Heather Page), and Steven (Kristy) Morris; two great-grandchildren, Carter Blackwell and Laci Morris and numerous nieces and nephews.
Lorraine was preceded in death by her parents, William and Lyola Julia Fox-Egan; her son, Daniel Popovich and her sisters: Mary Sandell, Agnes Suca and Marilyn Grosslaus and brothers, William Egan and Richard Hill.
Per her wishes, cremation rites are being accorded and private family services will be held at Woodlawn Memorial Park in Joliet.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made as gifts in Lorraine's memory to Lightways Hospice of Joliet or Parkinson's Disease Research.

Cremation services and arrangements have been made under the direction and care of Reeves & Baskerville Funeral Homes and Crematory.
