Kathryn VanDuyne

WILMINGTON—Kathryn “Kay” VanDuyne, (nee Long), 75, of Wilmington, passed away Thursday, Feb. 14, 2019 at Miller Rehabilitation in Kankakee.  
Born Nov. 27, 1943 in Long Beach, CA, she was the daughter of Stephen F. and Mary (nee Scott) Long.  Kay was an avid gardener, and loved the White Sox and Nationals.  
Surviving are her daughter, Kathleen Haley-Leslie (Jerry), of Parker, CO; son, Michael Haley (Sharon), of Chatham, IL; grandchildren: Jacob Haley, Jordan Haley and Sean Haley; sister, Margaret Haldorson; nieces, Erin Weber and Sherie Long; nephew, Stephen Long; sister-in-law, Sheila Long; brothers and sisters-in-law, Leonard and Karen VanDuyne, Gary and Jackie VanDuyne, Janet Jisa, Joyce and Kirby Daily and Patty and Terry Ferguson.  
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Richard; brother, Steve; son, David and niece, Greta.  
Visitation will be at the R.W. Patterson Funeral Home & Crematory, Thursday, Feb. 21, 2019 from 4-8 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at St. Rose of Lima Friday, Feb. 22 at 10 a.m. Rev. Sebastian Gargol and Deacon Jay Plese will officiate. Interment will follow in Mount Olivet Cemetery in Wilmington.  
Donations to Kuzma Cottage or Hospice of Kankakee Valley would be appreciated.
