Joyce Sullivan

WILMINGTON—Joyce L. Sullivan (nee Fleming), 70, of Wilmington, passed away Tuesday, June 26, 2018 at Presence St. Joseph Medical Center in Joliet.
Born April 30, 1948 in Joliet, Joyce Lynn was a daughter of William and Catherine      (Tenn) Fleming.
She was raised in Wilmington, attended St. Rose School and graduated from Wilmington High School with the Class of 1966. Joyce lived in Alaska for 10 years, where she worked as a prison guard, before returning to Wilmington where she owned and operated her own beauty shop.
Joyce later co-owned the Remember When Inn in Wilmington with her husband Ed Sullivan for numerous years, and was currently continuing to manage her family holdings.
Joyce enjoyed visiting the casinos and bird watching. She cherished her beloved companion Markee, and will be remembered for love of reading, numbers and continuous learning.
Survivors include her son, Bob Addleman of Wilmington; numerous nieces and nephews, including nephews: George “Bubba” (Sissie) Sullivan of Mississippi and Michael J. Sullivan of Wilmington; niece, Debbie, and various cousins including special cousin, Gary (Janice) Tenn of California, as well as special friend: Marci (the late Jim) Rynearson.
Joyce was preceded in death by her parents; beloved husband and soulmate, Edward Sullivan; son, Michael James Smith and her brother, William J. Fleming.
Per Joyce’s wishes, green flameless cremation rites have been accorded, and there will be no services.
Joyce will be privately laid to rest with her husband Ed at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood.
Preferred memorials in Joyce’s memory may be made as gifts in her memory to Kuzma Care Cottage, 635 S. Main Street, Wilmington, IL 60481.
