Joyce Byland

MINOOKA—Joyce Byland, 83, of Minooka, passed away Friday, Jan. 17, 2020 at Heritage Health Therapy and Senior Care in Dwight.
Born Oct. 29, 1936 in West Irvin, KY, Anna Joyce was a daughter of Lige and Fanny (nee Henderson) Reed. She was raised and educated in Covington, KY, and on June 19, 1954 she married Ronald Lee Byland Sr. in Ludlow, KY. Joyce worked for 15 years at Carson Pirie Scott in Joliet as a sales associate in their china department, and enjoyed cooking, as well as traveling to Door County. Her priority was always her family, and she especially loved spending time with her grandchildren.
Survivors include her three children: Ronald Jr. (Stephanie) Byland, of Minnesota and Steve (Patty) Byland and Nancy (Alan) Lindmark, both of Minooka; seven grandchildren: Stephanie (William) Thompson, Timothy (Terri) Byland, Hannah (Eddie) Vicich, Joshua Lindmark, Sarah Lindmark, Noah Lindmark, and Emily (Bryson) Biermann; seven great-grandchildren, with two more expected, and one sister, Linda (the late Roger) Hamilton, of Covington, KY as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Joyce was preceded in death by her parents, husband and six siblings: Charles Reed, Bill Reed, Glenn Reed, Wanda Welbers, Jim Reed and Gary Reed.
The family will receive friends for a visitation on Friday, Jan. 24, 2020 at Baskerville Funeral Home, 700 E. Kahler Rd., in Wilmington from 4 p.m. until the time of funeral service at 7 p.m.
Cremation rites will be accorded following the services, and inurnment will follow in Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood, where Joyce will be laid to rest with her husband.
