Joseph Patrick Burroughs

BLOOMINGTON— Joseph Patrick Burroughs, 47, passed away in Bloomington on Sept. 3, 2017, surrounded by his family.
Born in Joliet on Oct. 30, 1969 he moved to Coal City in 1976. Joe was an avid reader, loved the Cubs and was a master at Trivial Pursuit. He especially loved his dog, Tango. He is finally at peace and relieved of his struggles.
He is survived by his siblings: Jodi nee Burroughs (Charles) Dennison; Shelly nee Burroughs (Kevin) Hoffman; Peggy (Neal) Kukman; Debbie Burroughs; Patty Quinlan; and his only brother Raymond (Tina Gervais) Burroughs; Grandmother, Marlene Dennison (Smeets) who showed him that being a grandmother isn’t always about blood; many nieces and nephews, great nieces and great nephews who meant the world to him; and Mary Glagola and Matt Dennison, who were more like siblings.
A private memorial will be held at his parent’s gravesite at Woodlawn Memorial in Joliet on Saturday, Sept. 9 at 11 a.m., followed by a family luncheon.
