John T. Hunt

ROCKFORD—John Thomas Hunt, 83, of Rockford, IL passed away Sept. 4, 2020. He was born Feb. 16, 1937 in Detroit, MI, the son of Curtis and Ethel Hunt.
He was a respected pharmacist and owned and operated Hunt’s Pharmacy in Wilmington the first half of his 50 plus year career. He then became one of Rockford’s premiere compounding pharmacists and he was a pharmaceutical lab instructor at UIC. Tom enjoyed spending time with family and friends, gardening, golf and poker.
He is survived by his children: Laurie (Gary) Van Duyne, Curtis Hunt, Carrie (Jennifer) Hunt, and Andy (Beth) Hunt; his Rockford family: His companion for many years, Maureen Pipitone and her children: Tony (Sarah), Pat (Lori), Paul (Gloria Sigala), Andy (Julie) and Angelo.; grandchildren: Matthew and Brent Van Duyne, Ben, Madeline and Thomas Hunt; Charles, Drew and Molly Hunt and Michaela, AJ, Hannah, Ryan, Ethan and Macy Pipitone; great grandchildren: Colin, Zander, Ryan, Chance, Nolan and Madden Van Duyne and special friend, Tom Miller.
A Celebration of Life was held Saturday, Sept. 12, 2020 at the Venetian Club in Rockford.
