John M. Hall

STREATOR—John M. Hall, 66, of Streator, formerly Cornell, WI, passed away peacefully Saturday, May 4, 2019 at his home.
Born Sept. 24, 1952 in Joliet, John was a son of Henry and Leona (nee Adkins) Hall. He was raised in Big Rock before moving to Manhattan in the 8th grade, and went on to graduate from Morris High School with the class of 1972. On June 26, 1976, John married Cheryl Ann Carr in Wilmington. He worked as a truck driver for 38 years, and in his spare time John enjoyed spending it outdoors hunting, fishing and golfing. He was also skilled at fixing cars and woodworking. Above all else, John was a devoted family man who put his family first.
Survivors include his wife, Cheryl Hall and children: Shelly (Brian) Durham, Kimberly Ann Hall and Jeremy (Heather) Hall, all of Streator; five grandchildren: Henry Hall, Jeremy Hall Jr., Leona Hall, Betty Rose Hall and William Hall; brothers: Tom (Chris) Hall, of Eau Claire, WI; Larry (Carol) Hall, of Wilmington; Mike (Dana) Hall, of Texas; Ron Lewis, of Holcombe, WI and Terry Lewis, of Florida; one sister, Karen (Bryan) Derdzinski, of Bruce, WI; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Trish Hall, of Wilmington; Thomas (Anne) Carr, of Streator; Stephen (Bonnie) Carr, of Dwight and Kevin Carr, of Tennessee and numerous nieces and nephews, as well as special friends: Jim Bailey, Al Posego and Mark Phillips.
John was preceded in death by his parents, step-father, Levi Lewis; three brothers: Robert Hall, William James Lewis and Levi Lewis Jr. and one niece, Tina Hall.
The family will receive friends for a visitation on Thursday, May 9, 2019 from 11 a.m. until the time of funeral service at 1 p.m. at Baskerville Funeral Home, 700 E. Kahler Rd. in Wilmington. Pastor Michael Carr will officiate.
Green flameless cremation rites will be accorded following the services, and John will be laid to rest on Saturday, May 11, 2019 at 10 a.m. in Wesley Cemetery in rural Wilmington.
Preferred memorials may be made as gifts in John’s memory to his family for their distribution.
