Irma Rosa Valles Weyer

BRAIDWOOD— Irma Rosa Valles Weyer, 71, of Braidwood, formerly of Chicago, passed away peacefully Tuesday, Dec. 17, 2019 at her home.
Born Aug. 19, 1948 in Humacao, Puerto Rico, to the late Rafael Valles Bertres and Consuelo Garcia.
Irma retired in 2002 from the Chicago Police Department having served on the police force for 30 years. After retirement she moved to Braidwood in 2005 and was an active volunteer in many organizations. She was the president of the book club at the Fossil Ridge Library in Braidwood, volunteered at the VFW in Wilmington, and helped with the Ta Ta Trot in Carbon Hill.
Surviving are her husband of twenty-three years, Charles Robert Weyer, of Braidwood, whom she married on Oct. 12, 1996; one step-son, Charles (Melissa) Weyer, Jr., of Chicago, and their daughter, Lauren Weyer; one sister, Angie (Ruben) (nee Valles) Cevallos, of Round Lake, IL; two half-sisters: Norma (David) Lukasik, of Cape Coral, FL, and Vanessa Valles, of Puerto, Rico; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Per her wishes, cremation rites will be accorded and services will be private. Inurnment will be in Maryhill Cemetery in Niles, IL.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in her name may be directed to the Joliet Area Community Hospice.
