I-55 East Frontage Road Repairs in Wilmington, Braidwood

The Illinois Department of Transportation announced that a patching and
resurfacing project will begin, weather permitting, on the Interstate 55 East
Frontage Road from Coal City Road to Strip Mine Road, in Wilmington and Braidwood, on
Monday, Aug. 6.

In order to complete the work, intermittent, daytime lane closures will be
necessary, though the road will remain open at all times.

The project is expected to be completed by Sept. 30.

Motorists can expect delays and should allow extra time for trips through this area.
Drivers are urged to pay close attention to flaggers and signs in the work zones,
obey the posted speed limits and be on the alert for workers and equipment.
