Geraldine M. Kuchenbecker

WILMINGTON—Geraldine M. Kuchenbecker, "Gerri," 71, of Wilmington, formerly of Chicago, passed away Saturday, May 7, 2022 at her home.
Born Feb. 21, 1951 in Chicago, Geraldine Marie was a daughter of Charles and Margaret (nee Moore) Jones. She was raised and educated in Chicago and on Oct. 16, 1971 Gerri married Robert Phillip Kuchenbecker. Gerri relocated to Wilmington where she and her husband lived the past 18 years. She loved to read anything and everything, and had an appreciation for history and antiques. Gerri was a life-long Chicago Cubs fan and loved her pets dearly.
Survivors include her husband of 50 years, Robert Kuchenbecker, of Wilmington; five children: Susan (Mark) Breck, of Florida; Gerald Kuchenbecker, of Romeoville; Stacey (Jason) Shibley, of Wilmington; Kristen (the late Mario "Alex") Barba, of Aurora and Scott (Vanessa) Kuchenbecker, of Romeoville; her God-daughter, Monica (Jaime) Casas, of California; 12 grandchildren: Elise (Karl) Ulm, Renee (Justin) Krolik, Amber Shibley, Mikayla (Chris) Garcia, Mairin Kuchenbecker, Kiersten Breck, Angel Barba, Nicole Breck, Xavier Barba, Logan Barba, Angelica Rodriguez and Evan Barba; two great-grandchildren, Levi and Olivia Krolik, with one more expected in May; one brother and two sisters: Laura Burns, of California; Robert (Debby) Jones, of Arizona and Anne (the late Lenny) Mizio, of Florida; brother-in-law and sister-in-law: Karl (Nancy) Kuchenbecker, of Elmhurst and Jody (Gary) Coppola, of Glen Ellyn and numerous nieces and nephews.
Gerri was preceded in death by her parents and her mother-in-law and father-in-law: Robert and Joan Kuchenbecker; one brother, Richard Jones and one brother-in-law, Gary Kuchenbecker.
The family will receive friends for a visitation Friday, May 13, 2022 at Baskerville Funeral Home, 700 E. Kahler Rd., in Wilmington from 4 p.m. until the time of funeral service at 7 p.m. Burial will follow on Saturday, May 14, 2022 at Mount Olivet Catholic Cemetery, 278 Ashland Ave. in Aurora at 12 p.m.
