Era Proctor

WILMINGTON—Era Elizabeth Proctor (nee Hayes), 95, of Wilmington, passed away Friday, April 13, 2018 at the Joliet Area Community Hospice Home in Joliet.  
Born March 23, 1923 in Nashville, TN, she was the daughter of Pierce and Pearl (nee Williams) Hayes. Era formerly worked at Linen Wallpaper in Shorewood, IL. She loved working outside and keeping herself busy with her flowers, but most enjoyed visiting with family and friends. Era was a member of the Church of God in Wilmington for 17 years.  
Surviving are a son-in-law, Pete Van Gampler, of Wilmington; grandchildren. great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.  
Preceding her in death was her husband, William L. Proctor, who she married Jan. 6, 1943 in Nashville; son, William Jerry Proctor; daughter, Shirley Ann Van Gampler; sisters, Vera Hayes and Aleze Lewis; and brothers, Otis Hayes and Lester Hayes.              Visitation will be at the R.W. Patterson Funeral Home & Crematory, Sunday, April 22, from 1-3 p.m. with funeral services at 3 p.m. Pastor Greg Linkous will officiate.  Cremation rites will be accorded following services.  Private inurnment will be  in Custer Twp. Cemetery.  
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to Joliet Area Community Hospice would be greatly appreciated.
