Bust yields 30 grams of Xanax

Braidwood police have nabbed a suspected drug dealer, thanks to a tip.

On Wednesday, May 24, at approximately 5:15 p.m., Robert M. Cykalewicz, 20, of Shorewood, was arrested for felony possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance. The arrest took place in a parking lot at Division Street and Rt. 113 in Braidwood.

Police received information from a confidential source that an illegal drug transaction was going to take place at approximately 5 p.m.

Surveillance of the area was set up by the BPD, and shortly after, the alleged transaction occurred.

Police approached a suspicious vehicle and recovered 100 Xanax pills, amounting to approximately 30 grams.

A female juvenile was also placed into custody at the scene and later released to her parents.

Charges were approved by the Will County States Attorney. Cykalewicz was transported to the Will County Adult Detention Facility in Joliet, pending a bond hearing.
