Body of missing Carbon Hill man found

     The body of a missing Carbon Hill man was discovered inside an abandoned greenhouse by juveniles who were playing in the area.
    Grundy County Coroner John W. Callahan’s office, with assistance from the Grundy County Sheriff’s Office and Coal City Police Department, is investigating the death of James E. Roney.
    For the past several years, the 59-year-old had been living with friends in Carbon Hill. He went missing Sept. 4.
    Callahan’s office was notified of the discovery shortly after 7 p.m., Sunday, Sept. 16. The initial call was taken by Coal City Police.
    Roney was found inside the greenhouse located north of North Street near Lincoln Street.  
    Callahan reports evidence at the scene supports Roney had been deceased for a long period of time and consistent with the time frame of the missing person information.
    According to the coroner there appears to be no foul play. An examination was completed early Monday morning and the preliminary results on the cause of death are inconclusive at this time and are awaiting further test results.
