Bernard J. Cebolla

DIAMOND— Bernard J. Cebolla, 85, of Diamond, passed away on Thursday, May 7, 2020 at the Manteno Veteran's Home.
He was born April 24, 1935 in Trupe, PA to Francisco Navarro and Antoline (Talluto) Cebolla. He served his country honorably in the United States Airforce. He married Elaine Dube in 1963 in Chester, PA. Together they raised their five children in Wilmington, DE. They were married for 40 years at the time of her death in 2004.
Bernard retired after many years as a butcher at Shoprite in Wilmington. He was a Grand Knight and 4th Degree member of the Knights of Columbus in Claymond, DE and a member of the Braidwood Chapter. He was an ordained minister with Holy Child Catholic Church in Delaware. Bernard enjoyed smoking his pipe. He was an avid sports fan especially enjoying the Philadelphia Eagles and the Chicago Cubs.
He is survived by his daughters: Michele (Joseph) Murrell, of Channahon, and Francesca Nantz of Diamond; his sons: Don (Patty) Cebolla, of Wilmington, DE, and David (Lisa) Cebolla, of Athens, AL; his sister, Bernadine Fischer, of Hobart, IN; 9 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Elaine Cebolla; and his daughter, Jude Hudson.
Funeral services will be private with Father Robert Noesen officiating. Burial will follow at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood.
