Barbara King

BRAIDWOOD—Barbara Lynne King, 66, (nee Earley), 66, of Braidwood, passed away unexpectedly Saturday, Nov. 9, 2019 at her home.
Born Feb. 22, 1953 in Braidwood, she was the daughter of Robert J. and Dorothy Rosemarie (nee Gallas) Earley. Barbara retired from the Reed-Custer High School, working as a secretary for over 25 years. She was a current member and lector of the Immaculate Conception Church in Braidwood and formerly served on the CCW and volunteered with bible school. When her daughters were younger she greatly enjoyed helping with their Girls Scouts. She also enjoyed gardening, taking care of her family, and most of all loved spending time with her granddaughter, Isla.
Surviving are two daughters, Michele Ryan, of Manhattan and Melissa King, of Greenfield, MA; one granddaughter, Isla Ryan; four brothers: Patrick (Susan) Earley, of Elmhurst, IL; Michael (Marilyn) Earley, of San Jose, CA; Chris (Sheree) Earley, of Braidwood and Robert (Cathy) Earley, of Goshen, IN; four sisters: Sandra (the late Carl) Bauter, of Braidwood; Pamela (George) Chambers, of Oklahoma; Gloria “Sue” Kelleher, of Braidwood and Sheila (Aaron) Schneider, of Hoffman Estates and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
Preceding her in death were her parents, husband, Dennis Ward King (11/21/2018), who she married July 15, 1972 in Braidwood and one brother, James Earley.
Visitation will be at the R.W. Patterson Funeral Home & Crematory, Braidwood, Thursday, Nov. 14, 2019 from 4-8 p.m. Funeral services will be from the R.W. Patterson Funeral Home & Crematory, Friday, Nov. 15, 2019 at 10:30 a.m. to the Immaculate Conception Church in Braidwood for a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. Interment will follow in Oakwood Cemetery, Braidwood.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in her name may be directed to the Immaculate Conception Church.
