Arlette L. Testa

MORRIS—Arlette L. (nee Taiclet) Testa, 90, of Morris, passed away Friday, Sept. 16, 2022 at Heritage Health in Dwight.
She was born on June 14, 1932 in Joudreville, Meurthe-et-Moselle, France to Marcel and Alice (nee Robert) Taiclet. Arlette married James E. Testa in her hometown in France. Together, after Jim’s service in the United States Air Force, they came to the United States to make their home in Coal City, later retiring to Morris. She attended the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church in Coal City and St. Patrick’s Parish in Seneca.
Arlette loved her family, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and friends. She enjoyed cooking, dancing, music, gardening and arranging flowers. Arlette was very proud and honored to receive her U.S. Citizenship on May 1, 1961.
She is survived by her children, JoEllen (Lawrence) Fish, of Seneca and Claudette (Frank) Schmitt, of Morris; her grandchildren: Jonelle (Terry) Carter, of Morris; Christopher (Caroline) Fish, of Columbia, MO and Jacob Schmitt, of Braceville; her great-grandchildren, Daniel Rotta Jr. and Marleyna Price; her step-great-grandchildren: Darius Jennings, Desmond Jennings, Travis Carter and Shelby Carter; her brother and sister-in-law, Francis (Anne-Marie) Taiclet and her sisters-in-law, Louise Taiclet and Linda Testa. Also surviving are nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and grand-nephews in the United States and in Europe, who all brought her tremendous joy.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James E. Testa; her parents, Marcel and Alice Taiclet; her brothers and sisters-in-law, Robert (Andre) Taiclet, Jean (Marguerite) Taiclet, George Taiclet, Roger (Irene) Taiclet, Claudette (nee Taiclet) (Marin) Grapeggia, John A. Testa, Joseph (Rose) Testa, her sister-in-law, Lorraine (nee Testa) (Edward) Cody and her mother-in-law and father-in-law, Bridgid and Joseph Testa.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, Sept. 22, 2022 at the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church, 215 S. Kankakee St., Coal City. Reverend Joshua Miller will officiate. Burial will follow at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood.
