Anthony Stefancic

WILMINGTON—Anthony Stefancic, 91, of Wilmington, passed away Thursday, May 2, 2019 at Green Tree of Bradley.
Born Nov. 11, 1927 in Johnston City, IL, Anthony was a son of Anthony and Anna (Ban) Stefancic. He was raised in Johnston City and graduated from Johnston City High School with the class of 1945. Anthony went on to honorably serve in the United States Marines, and later joined Iron Workers Local 444 from where he retired. In years past, Anthony raised Beagles and was also a member of the Beagle Club.
Survivors include his wife, Vonda; one son, Jonathan (Lisa) Stefancic, of Wilmington; step-children: Tammy (Kenny) Green, of Tennessee and Terry Carroll, of Missouri; five grandchildren: Amanda, Stephanie, Taylor, Camden and Cayden, and three nieces: Pam, Lorie and Linda.
Anthony was preceded in death by his parents, one sister, Helen Karcher and one nephew, Keith Karcher.
The family will receive friends for a visitation at Baskerville Funeral Home, 700 E. Kahler Rd. in Wilmington on Wednesday, May 8, 2019 from Noon until 1 p.m.  Anthony will then be laid to rest in Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood at 1:30 p.m. with full military honors.
