Alice Jirmasek

    COAL CITY—Alice R. Jirmasek, 95, of Coal City, passed away peacefully Friday, Sept. 7, 2018 at Heritage Health in Dwight.
    She was born Jan. 26, 1923 in Chicago, a daughter of Casimir and Anna (nee Plucinski) Ciechanowski. She married Frank Jirmasek on Jan. 1, 1949. They were married for 56 years until Frank's passing in 2005. Alice was a member of the American Legion Post #663 Auxiliary and the Assumption Catholic Church. She enjoyed visiting with her family and friends and going on trips.
    Alice is survived by a son, Francis (Helen) Jirmasek, of Antioch; a daughter, Renee (John) Hollmeyer, of Gardner; three grandchildren: Kristen (Mike) Ashley, of South Wilmington; Ryan (Ann) Jirmasek, of Springfield and Alyson (Chris) Entwhistle, of Naperville; great-grandchildren: Lauren (Jeremiah Moore) Ashley, of Kentucky; Michael and Easton Ashley, of South Wilmington; Joseph, Matthew and Anna Jirmasek, of Ohio; Ellie and Chloe Popovich, of Springfield and numerous nieces and nephews.
    She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Frank; her brothers and sisters: Dominic (Celia) Chalmers, Virginia (Edward) Bojanowski, Sabina (Joe) Machalski, Arthur (Rose) Ciechanowski, Irene (Walter) Kreczmer, Walter (Helen) Ciechanowski, Raymond (Celia) Ciechanowski, Florence (Al) Kropiewnicki, Lorraine Ciechanowski, Eugene Ciechanowski, Henry Ciechanowksi and grandson, Francis Jirmasek Jr.
    A Mass of Christian Burial will be Tuesday, Sept. 11, 2018 at 11 a.m. at the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church, 245 S. Kankakee St., Coal City. Father Robert Noesen will officiate. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until the time of the service at 11 a.m. Luncheon will immediately follow the funeral service, with procession to Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery for interment after the luncheon.
