The Joliet Signal tells us what happened next. “Yesterday morning five men and nineteen women, charged with participating in the late riot at Braidwood, were brought into our Circuit Court, which is now in session, and were admitted to bail, to answer to the charges preferred against them at the next term of court, in the sum of $100 ($2,300 today) each.”
