On April 6, voters in Braidwood will decide who will fill the unexpired 2-year term of Commissioner of Public Health and Safety on the Braidwood City Council.
The seat was previously held by Commissioner Charlie Hart, who passed away in November 2020. The election will fill that seat for the next two years, until the next municipal election in the city.
The city of Braidwood operates on a Commission Form of Government. That means the City Council is not elected at large or by wards, but rather, each elected official oversees his or her own department.
