SOMETHING SMELLS ABOUT NorthPoint, reads a sign hauled by a tractor in a parade held in Jackson Township last Thursday to protest the proposed Compass Business Park by NorthPoint Development. In addition to taking more than 2,000 acres of prime land out of agricultural production, opponents say the project will dump much more truck traffic on Will County area roads that can’t handle what they already have, and would cause air, water, light and noise pollution that would be a detriment to the Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery and the Midewin National Tallgrass Prairie.
