AT A STANDSTILL - A freight train broke down Wednesday in Wilmington blocking the three west side crossings needed to leave town. At Strip Mine Road and Route 53, ESDA personnel detoured traffic for more than seven hours while the train crew tried to repair the coupling on two cars. They eventually had to move the cars to the siding and reconnect the train to get underway. A northbound Amtrak was held in Braidwood until the track was clear. Photo by Eric Fisher

MEMBERS OF THE Braidwood Fire Department respond to a fire at the wastewater treatment plant on Tuesday, March 26. The Braidwood Fire Protection District and the City of Braidwood have entered into an agreement for the district to conduct fire inspections on select properties in town.
