  • WRESTLING COACH ROB MURPHY is given a standing ovation Thursday in the WHS gym when it was announced that he had just won his 500th career victory. Murphy, who has been at Wilmington since 1995, ranks ninth by the IHSA for most dual meet victories in a single school career. Tops is Tim Haak with 636 victories who coached at Harvard 27 years. EACH OCTOBER THE TaTa Trot 5K run/walk takes place in the village of Carbon Hill. The purpose to raise awareness of breast cancer and generate funds to support those impacted by the disease and contribute to life saving research. The 2017 run/walk generated $10,000 that was split between the American Cancer Society and Riverside Healthcare.
