Wilmington Region


THE COMMUNITY FOUNDATION for Wilmington Parks, Recreation and Improvement helped clean up at Riley's Garden, in the Children's Memorial Park in Northcrest. The foundation was involved in several park clean up and repair projects this past spring and summer. The Island Park District has suggested that if the city is going to turn over two of its parks to the district that it continue its mowing contract, to allow the district time to catch up on work that the city has fallen behind on.

Braidwood Region


THE KANKAKEE RIVER Valley Water Planning Alliance includes Godley, Braidwood, Diamond, and Coal City, as well as Godley Public Water District, the Custer Park Fire Prevention District. Will County will consider joining the alliance later this year. The alliance hopes to reap the benefits of a single water plant, taking water from the Kankakee River in Custer Park.
