The city of Wilmington couldn't get a bid to sell the old police station last year, but now there are at least three potential uses of the property. A downtown property owner has offered this house at 212 N. Water St. in trade, which Mayor Roy Strong would like to raze to make a parking lot.

THE GODLEY PUBLIC WATER District has purchased land along the Kankakee River for future river withdrawal, and will take possession of the school in Custer Park this fall. The district plans to use the school site to construct a water treatment plant.
